Development Assistant

Schafer Richardson, Inc. is a real estate investment services firm providing development, management, leasing, and construction services to its commercial and multifamily real estate portfolio in the Upper Midwest.  We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Development Assistant to assist the Development team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with grant proposals and reporting, land use entitlements, financial closings, and other development related items
  • Order title work, surveys, environmental reports and other development related items
  • Assist in the coordination of consultant contracts and bill tracking with General Contractor, Architect, Property Manager, special purpose contractors, and other hired consultants
  • Assist with managing project budgets
  • Research local requirements from land use to funders requirements
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly investor reports
  • Assist in marketing efforts including creating marketing materials for projects, investors, and internal SR collateral
  • Prepare agendas, schedule and make arrangements for meetings as needed
  • Create and modify documents such as reports, memos, presentations, and letters using word processing, spreadsheet, power point, or other programs
  • Compile data and prepare reports for the Director of Development, Project Managers and Principals
  • Organize electronic project documents and other files on the company server, and cloud based platforms (e.g. Dropbox, etc.)
  • Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, copying, mailing and filing

Other duties as assigned as assigned by Director of Development, Project Managers and Chief Executive Officer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop strong relationships with project stakeholders
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Preference for knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, telephone systems, calculators and copiers
  • Exemplary organization and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Urban Planning or a related field
  • Previous Real Estate or Development experience a plus
  • Ability to attend occasional evening meetings
