Schafer Richardson to break ground on apartments overlooking the Mississippi River in St. Paul

Schafer Richardson will begin construction in the next couple weeks on a six-story apartment building that will have a rooftop deck looking out toward the Mississippi River near downtown St. Paul. Plans call for a 175-unit building with 192 parking stalls tucked under the residential floors. That parking configuration is made possible because the project is on a hillside that leads down from West Seventh Street to the Mississippi River. “This site is fantastic and the location is close to the downtown skyway system, West Seventh Street and the river,” said Schafer Richardson Director of Development Maureen Michalski.
The project, which is yet to be named, will have a club room, outdoor pool, fitness center, a dog run, a two-story lobby and an amenity deck that looks toward the river and Harriet Island.
The project team includes Benson-Orth general contractors, UrbanWorks architecture, bdh & young design, and BKBM engineers; with financing provided by Great Southern Bank.
